1. Down the Rabbit Hole Alice was sitting by the riverbank, bored out of her mind. The hot, stuffy day wasn't helping her mood either. Her sister was nose-deep in a book, but Alice couldn't see the point of reading something without pictures or conversations. The heat was making Alice feel drowsy and slow, like her brain was wrapped in cotton wool. She lazily considered making a daisy chain, weighing up whether it was worth the effort of actually getting up to pick the flowers.A White Rabbit with pink eyes scurried past her. Now, rabbits weren't exactly rare around these parts, but this one was different. It was wearing a waistcoat, for starters. And as if that wasn't weird enough, it pulled out a pocket watch, glanced at it, and then dashed off in a hurry.Without even thinking about it, Alice jumped up and chased after the Rabbit. Her curiosity was like a wildfire, spreading through her mind and pushing her forward. She followed it just in time to see it disappear down a large rabbit hole under a hedge. The rabbit hole was like nothing Alice had ever seen before. It started off as a normal tunnel, but then suddenly dropped away. Before she knew it, Alice was falling down what felt like the deepest well in the world. But this was no ordinary well. There were cupboards and bookshelves everywhere, filled with the most random assortment of items. Maps and pictures hung from pegs, and she even spotted jars of orange marmalade on some of the shelves. It was like falling through the world's weirdest pantry. Alice's mind was buzzing with questions. Who lived down here? Why did they need so many cupboards? The fall seemed to go on forever. Alice started to wonder if she'd end up on the other side of the world, where people walk upside down. The thought made her giggle, the sound echoing strangely in the deep well.Suddenly, with a thump and a bump, Alice landed on a pile of sticks and dry leaves. Surprisingly, she wasn't hurt at all. She jumped up, trying to see how far she'd fallen, but it was too dark to make anything out.Determined not to lose sight of the strange creature, Alice dashed after it. She turned a corner, but the Rabbit had vanished. Instead, she found herself in a long, low hall lit by a row of lamps hanging from the ceiling. It was like being in a funhouse, but without the fun. Doors lined the walls, but every single one was locked tight. As she wandered around, trying door after door, she stumbled upon a little three-legged table made entirely of glass. On top of it was a tiny golden key. Alice's heart leaped with excitement. Could this be her ticket out of here? She tried the key in each door, but it was either too big for the locks or the locks were too big for it. Just when she was about to give up, she noticed a low curtain she'd missed before. Behind it was a tiny door, about fifteen inches high.Alice opened the door and peered through. On the other side was the most beautiful garden she'd ever seen. It was bursting with colorful flowers and cool, inviting fountains. Alice wanted nothing more than to escape the dark hall and explore this magical place. But there was just one tiny problem - she was way too big to fit through the door.Disappointed, Alice went back to the glass table, hoping to find another key or maybe even a book titled "How to Shrink People for Dummies" . Instead, she found a little bottle that definitely wasn't there before. Now, Alice might have been curious, but she wasn't stupid. She examined the bottle carefully, checking for any sign that said ' poison '. Finding none, she decided to take a sip. The taste was like nothing she'd ever experienced before - a mix of cherry tart, custard, pineapple, roast turkey, toffee, and hot buttered toast all at once.Suddenly, Alice felt very strange. She was shrinking faster than a wool sweater in a hot wash. In no time at all, she was only ten inches tall. Perfect size for that little door!Poor Alice tried her best to climb up the slippery table legs, but it was hopeless. Exhausted and frustrated, she sat down and had a good cry.As she sat there feeling sorry for herself, Alice spotted a little glass box under the table. Inside was a cake with "EAT ME" written on it in currants. At this point, Alice figured things couldn't get much worse, so she decided to eat it.She took a bite and waited anxiously, wondering which way she would grow. To her surprise, nothing happened at first. And work it did - but not in the way Alice expected. She started to grow, and grow, and grow some more. It was like someone had hit fast-forward on her life. Before she knew it, her head was bumping against the ceiling.Alice quickly grabbed the golden key and rushed to the garden door. But now she had the opposite problem - she was way too big to fit through. All she could do was lie on her side and peek through with one eye.Feeling more lost and confused than before, Alice sat down and started to cry again. Her tears were so big they could have filled a bathtub.Little did Alice know, her wild ride was just beginning. She was about to embark on a journey that would challenge everything she thought she knew about the world - and herself. As she pondered her next move, one thing was clear: she'd grown way too big to squeeze through that tiny door. It was like being a giant trying to fit into a dollhouse, and this was definitely no laughing matter.
